Ruffles

My ruffles are a fun way for me to explore both colour and texture independently of composition and context. Different colours are “woven together” to tell a story or create tension, much like the way threads do within a “tapestry”. The tradition of tapestry reminds us of the enduring power of handmade art, and offers us insight into the past while continuing to inspire modern art forms.
